THE RIG:BUSINESS OFFICE

THE RIG is unprecedented tourism destination on oil platforms in the Arabian Gulf. It’s the first of it’s kind in the world, and will be created to celebrate the Kingdom’s long-lasting oil heritage and leading position in the oil and gas sector globally.

The brief was to design an office in an existing three-story office building in the Business Quarter Compound. The office space should reflect THE RIG’s brand identity and design scheme.

THE RIG’s identity is represented by the Scale of Adventure , which is inspired by “Vertical Data Readings” used in the oil discoveries. The scale reader is used to separate the programmatic spaces into three different levels (Above Rig Level, Rig Level, Below Rig Level). The project utilizes the circulation core as the main element to express the brands identity. Each Level is expressed uniquely through materials, colors, furniture, and elements.
