waste to Energy
The proposed Waste to Energy and Recycling Center intends to establish a localized waste collection and processing facility that incorporates a 'Deep Diving' pool complex.
The project aims to optimize the heat and energy byproducts of the waste-to-energy process, thus providing a sustainable energy source.
It presents a dualistic character along its waterfront (East River) and street-facing (FDR Highway) fronts, which are expressed through distinct form and material choices. The design concept features five circular nodes positioned along the water's edge, with each node featuring a tangent roof line that determines the building's overall form.

The building takes a different character as it faces the street life.
The building takes a different stance and character towards Manhattan, drifting away from the robust industrial character. Each building contains two massing that are separated by a cross pathway, but caressed by the jutting tangent roof.
